Programs for Peers
NAMI Orange County’s programs and events are now held virtually and in person.
Peer-to-Peer
Peer-to-Peer (P2P) is a no-cost, 8-week educational program for adults (18+) with a mental health condition who are looking to better understand their condition and journey toward recovery. P2P is taught by a trained team of people who have experience living with a mental health condition. The program includes presentations, discussion, and interactive exercises.
Connection Recovery Support Group
Connection Recovery Support Group is a no-cost support group for adults living with a mental health condition. These groups are led by NAMI-trained facilitators with lived experience. Connection Recovery Support Groups are unique because they follow a structured model to ensure that all group participants have an opportunity to be heard. The groups meet on a bi-weekly, weekly or monthly basis.
Peer Programs
NAMI OC offers peer support programs designed to helps participants strengthen relationships with their families, increase cooperation, and understand how to
navigate the community-based services. Participants are matched with a trained mentor, consisting of one-on-one
connection. Mentors provide participants with individualized support, education, skill-building tools and community resources, throughout Orange County.
Please Note: Support Groups are intended for family members and peers ONLY.
All support groups involve active participation and are NOT open for observation.
