How is NAMI Orange County funded?
NAMI OC is funded through grants, contracts, and donations from amazing community members like you!

How much does NAMI Orange County charge for programs/classes/events?
All programs, classes, and events are provided at no cost.

Does NAMI Orange County provide housing vouchers/housing assistance?
NAMI OC understands the role secure housing plays in a person’s mental health journey, but does not provide housing vouchers, assistance, or navigation at this time.

Does NAMI Orange County provide therapy or psychiatry services?
NAMI OC is non-clinical and does not offer therapy, psychiatry, or medical services.

Can NAMI Orange County help me find a job?
No employment services are offered at this time. 

Does NAMI Orange County offer legal advice or assistance?
No legal advice or assistance is offered at this time.

How do I volunteer with NAMI Orange County?

I am/my loved one is in crisis and we need help. Can you help me?
If you or your loved one is in crisis/danger, please call 911 or go to your nearest Emergency Department. NAMI-OC does not offer crisis stabilization services.

Can I enroll my family member into a class or program?
Participants must be at least 18-years-old and must enroll themselves into their program of interest.

I do not have a mental health condition, but want to accompany a loved one to a Peer-to-Peer class or Connections Support Group. Is that okay?
It is wonderful that you want to support your loved one! However, in an effort to maintain a safe & sacred space, no family members are allowed to attend Peer-Based classes or programs. Please consider taking Family-to-Family instead. Also, a family member can participate in our Family Support groups.

Does NAMI Orange County have classes for children under 18?
At this time, NAMI OC does not have classes for individuals under the age of 18. However, High School students may consider starting a NAMI on Campus club!

Does NAMI Orange County have classes and/or resources available in Spanish or Vietnamese?
We have resources available in English, Spanish, and Vietnamese. Peer-to-Peer, Family-to-Family, Peer Connector, and Family Support Groups can all be offered in Spanish.

I just signed up for Peer Connector. Will my mentor have the exact same diagnosis as me? 
All of our amazing mentors have different lived experience regarding mental health and are trained to listen and provide emotional support to those that would like someone to talk to.

I just signed up for a class/program and you are asking for my address. Do I have to give it to you?
Yes. Our programs are County-funded and in order to continue providing these programs, we need to collect your address. Rest assured that your information is safe and will not be shared.
