NAMI OC Mentors are essential in providing one-on-one peer support to individuals in the emergency department seeking assistance from those with diverse life experiences. Their warm, personal, and nonjudgmental approach offers critical emotional support during mental health crises. Mentors not only assist patients but also extend NAMI resources to family members, guiding them through these difficult times with compassion and understanding.
NAMI By Your Side Peer Advocate (Click here for full description)
NAMI OC Peer Support Specialists play a central role in offering 1-on-1 peer support by pairing up with community members who are looking for support from people with various life experiences and need with a warm, personal, and nonjudgmental approach. Peer Advocates will help community members with a variety of resources, scheduling and attending follow-up care, building a social support network, and accessing other services.
